MARK COX has published seven volumes of poetry: Barbells of the Gods (Ampersand Press), Smoulder (David R. Godine), Thirty-seven Years from the Stone (Pitt Poetry Series),  Natural Causes ( Pitt Poetry Series), Sorrow Bread (Serving House Books) and Readiness (Press 53). Knowing, his latest book of poems, is newly available from Press 53. Cox has a 40-year publication history in prominent magazines and has received a Whiting Writers Award, a Pushcart Prize, and numerous fellowships for that work.   He chairs the Department of Creative Writing at the University of North Carolina Wilmington and also teaches in the Vermont College MFA Program.
